Organizing for 2008

Since our district votes approximately 80% for Democrats,
registering these voters and encouraging them to vote is a HUGE opportunity!

1. Get Connected

2. Join your precinct team

Connect with your Precinct Team through your Regional Organizer (below):

(If your precinct team does not list a Precinct Committee Officer (PCO),
please send mail to 43rd-regional-organizers@googlegroups.com to volunteer.) 

3. Distribute Sample Ballots

We'll be reminding people to vote for Democrats and endorsed judicial candidates by distributing a sample ballot.  These can be picked-up from covered porches around the district now:

• North of the ship canal: 3663 Carr Pl. N, Wallingford (Ron Aley's home)
• South of the ship canal: 1247 20th Ave. E, Capitol Hill (Harriet Waserman's home)

Sample ballots will also be included in the "walk packets" available to Precinct Committee Officers (PCO's) / Neighborhood Leaders (NL's) through their Regional Organizers (see #4 below.)

If you have time, please canvass EVERY HOME in your precinct so they know who the Democrats and Democratic endorsed candidates and initiatives are.

4. Get Out The Vote (GOTV)

We'll be attempting to contact ~21,000 registered voters in the 43rd LD who are either new voters or vote in Presidential years but not in "off-cycle" years. 

• Friday, Oct. 17th, 7pm: Precinct packets will be assembled at coordinated campaign headquarters: 1310 Mercer St.
• Friday, Oct. 17th, 9pm: Precinct packets will be available at regional "staging locations" for pick-up by PCO's / NL's
• Sunday, Oct. 19th: Results from 1st round of canvassing "due" to Regional Organizers
• Tuesday, Oct. 21st, 7:30pm: GOTV training at the 43rd LD Dems meeting at the University Heights Community Center: 5031 University Way NE
• Friday, Oct. 24th: Updated walk lists of voters available from Regional Organizers
• Saturday, Oct. 25th and Sunday, Oct. 26th: 2nd round of canvassing
• Friday, Oct. 31st: Results from 2nd round of canvassing "due" to Regional Organizers
• Nov. 1-4: Final GOTV efforts TBD
• Nov. 4: Election day
